MacProject II is preset to identify the critical path as those tasks with a slack of zero or less. If no tasks have a slack of zero or less, it identifies the tasks with the least amount of slack time.
You may want MacProject II to show as critical all tasks whose slack is equal to or less than a certain value that is greater than zero (for example, 2 days). You can do this by specifying a critical path threshold.

Choose Preferences from the Edit menu.
Under Critical Path Threshold, click Custom and enter a value greater than zero.
